Wolfgang Egner: Transnational Solidarity Networks and the Transformations of a Crisis: The Balkan Crisis of 1875-1878
Autor / Autorin:
Wolfgang EgnerIf we look at the Greek budget crisis today, we can see how an economic crisis changed into a political one for the whole EU. This is just a brief example how crises and especially their public perception transform themselves in various ways. The Balkan Crisis of 1875-1878 is an exceptional example for the variability of crises. It shows how the change of people’s perception of a crisis can modify expressions of solidarity, which in turn transforms the phenomenon of crisis itself.
