Eurovision Relations: The Eurovision Song Conquest and European Relations

The symposium will bring together artists, academics, diplomats, journalists and politicians to discuss the significance of the Eurovision Song Contest for cultural, economic and political relations among Europeans and between Europe and the world. It will feature three keynote speakers who have performed in the Eurovision Song Contest and had political careers at the European and national levels: Åse Kleveland from Norway, Ismeta Dervoz from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Claudette Buttigieg from Malta.

The symposium is being sponsored by the Information Office of the European Parliament, the European Commission, the University of Vienna and the Australian Embassy.
